Native Community Suffers Loss of ECHL Rising Star

Nativehockey.com is sad to debut our new site with the news of the passing of a promising young talent.  Terence Tootoo, son of Rose and Barney Tootoo and brother of Corrine and Jordin Tootoo, unexpectedly passed away on August 29, 2002.

Terence played for the Roanoke Express in the ECHL during the 2001-02 season and had signed to play for them again this coming year.  He was loved by teammates and coaches alike, and will be missed for his on-ice, but more importantly off-ice contributions.

Terence was the first professional hockey player to come from Rankin Inlet.

In lieu of flowers, the Tootoo family requests that donations be made to:
