Jordin Tootoo has come a long way....literally. Born and raised in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, he was the first Inuit ever to be drafted by an NHL team when he was selected by the Nashville Predators in the 2001 NHL entry draft. Consequently, he was the first, and so far only, Inuit to play in the NHL. An incredible role model, we can't say enough about Jordin and what he means to his community. On the ice, he is definitely improving as an NHL player, and is a very smart hockey player that too often gets the recognition as just a guy that throws good hits. Tootoo's future is definitely in the NHL.
